Frocks & Frolics
Although I loved teaching I missed the fast-paced world of fashion and decided to start my own sewing pattern company. With my own company, I was able to incorporate everything I love from teaching beginners to designing and drafting my own patterns.
I am extremely excited at how popular my patterns have become in such a short period of time, and am looking forward to producing many more patterns in the future. The continued feedback and suggestions from my lovely customers is what drives me to produce more and better content for our community!
It is such a pleasure to design girl’s clothing because having raised a boy I never had the opportunity to sew frilly frocks. I must say big thank you to all my little models who seem to adore all their ‘frocks’ and whose smiles say it all really.
I have met so many lovely and talented ladies along the way, who have created online shops using my patterns to sell finished ‘frocks’. It is fantastic too see how far my patterns have come, and I cannot wait to see where this journey will take us!
Frocks & Frolics Patterns
My patterns use a one size per file system, unique to Frocks & Frolics in both Din A4 and letter size format. This allows me to make specific alterations to certain sizes and ages giving each individual pattern a tailored fit, which is simply not possible in multi size patterns. My shop is expanding age wise and I hope that soon there will be something perfect for everyone at Frocks & Frolics!

Meet the Team
Marina
Founder & Creative Director
Marina trained initially as a tailor at a top design studio in Germany for many years, before becoming a teacher in the UK where she loved watching her students flourish.
She started Frocks & Frolics as an opportunity to share what she has learnt, and now designs all of the patterns & stars in the instruction videos.
Marina is based in LA, U.S.A with her husband and son.
Jo
Sales & Marketing Director
Jo has known Marina since she taught her A Level Textiles in 2008. Jo worked for a charity in the UK before travelling for a year around the Americas.
Jo & Marina reconnected in LA in 2018 where Jo helped Marina with marketing and communications, most notably building the new website.
Jo is now a Director of Frocks & Frolics and is based in London, UK.
Ela
Photography & Management Consultant
Ela joined the team a few years ago.
She is the administrator of the Facebook group, organizes pattern testing and most importantly takes our gorgeous photographs.
When she is not busy with her family she tosses zillions of ideas at Marina which she wants to see pronto! Some of the best work has come out of this amazing two people think tank!
